A devastating flood triggered in the Gyirong (Kerung) region of Tibet, China on Tuesday the 08 July’2025 due to heavy rainfall. The flood has caused noticeable damage and human casualties in the region and the cross-border movement for trade and tourism have been stopped completely. The Nepal-China friendship bridge has been heavily damaged which serves the entry and exit for trade, tourism and pilgrimage to Kailash Mansarovar. There are hundreds of Kailash Mansarovar yatris were stranded near the border waiting for their Tibet entry permit and visa to arrive with much delays, those travellers are being evacuated and the Companies are now bringing them back to Kathmandu.

Further decision will be taken by the authorities and companies after completely analysing the situation. Max Holidays has urged the travellers to keep a watch on this situation and go to Nepal border only once the situation is normalised for the cross-border activities. “Kailash Yatra pilgrims travelling through any source and company may get in touch with our helpline no. +91 8800750030 for update on the situation. The team in Delhi and Kathmandu has been instructed to help the travellers for their safety and concerns” - said Vishal Gogia, MD of Max Holidays India
